Beijing, June 15th—The CPC and nine main political parties of Tunisia jointly established here today the Belt and Road exchange mechanism for political parties of China and Tunisia, and held a meeting via videolink. Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Zhang Jianguo, Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia and leaders of political parties of the Tunisian side such as the Ennahda Movement, the Heart of Tunisia, the Democratic Current, the People's Movement, the Tahya Tounes, the Project Tunisia, the Tunisian Revolution, Future Tunisia Party, and the Democratic Patriots' Unified Party attended and addressed the meeting.

Zhu praised Tunisian political parties for actively responding to China's initiative to participate in the Belt and Road exchange mechanism of the Chinese and Tunisian political parties, and said that Tunisia is a traditional friendly country of China and a natural partner for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The CPC is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with the political parties in Tunisia on the basis of the new political party relationship of seeking common ground while reserving differences, mutual respect, and mutual learning, and give full play to the unique role of party exchanges in political guidance, exchange of ideas, mutual learning of experience, and promotion of cooperation, and jointly contribute party wisdom and party strength to the Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries. Zhu also introduced the CPC's experience and achievements in governing based on the CPC’s experience since its founding.

Ambassador Zhang congratulated on the launching of the Belt and Road exchange mechanism for political parties of China and Tunisia, and said that the Chinese and Tunisian political parties could promote the coordination of economic policies and the integration of development strategies between the two countries under this mechanism, promote non-governmental exchanges between the two countries, and promote the Belt and Road cooperation for new results.

The leaders of the Tunisian political parties warmly congratulated the CPC on its 100th anniversary, and spoke positively of the CPC’s centenary achievements, especially the great development achievements China has made under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core and the positive contributions to the cause of world peace and development since the 18th CPC National Congress. All parties spoke highly of the friendly and cooperative relations between Tunisia and China, especially the cooperation between the two countries in the fight against the epidemic. They appreciated the CPC’s initiative to establish the Belt and Road exchange mechanism between the Chinese and Tunisian political parties, and provided suggestions on deepening exchanges and cooperation in various fields within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. They emphasized the willingness to strengthen exchanges and close cooperation with the CPC and jointly promote the Belt and Road cooperation between Tunisia and China to achieve more practical results and benefit the two countries and the two peoples.
