In their messages, Abbas and Burhan spoke highly of great achievements China has made in various areas under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. They appreciated China’s precious support and assistance to Arab countries in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. They also expressed their will to strengthen solidarity and collaboration with China, enhance the practical cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative and other fields, and support each other on issues involving respective core interests. It is hoped that Arab and Chinese youth will actively develop the traditional friendship and pass it from generation to generation, writing a new chapter for Arab-China relations in the new era.

Song said, General Secretary Xi Jinping often uses “close like a family” to describe the China-Arab friendship and proposes to build a China-Arab community with a shared future for the new era, which has charted the course for the development of China-Arab relations. Leaders of China and Arab countries have high expectations for the youth from both sides to actively join and promote the China-Arab exchanges and cooperation. This exchange meeting and essay competition aims to implement the important consensus of Chinese and Arab leaders and enhance the understanding of China and CPC among people, especially the youth, in Arab countries, so as to boost the new development of China-Arab strategic partnership.

Song emphatically introduced the great achievements and successful experience China has achieved and learned under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core in the past 100 years since the founding of the CPC, especially since the 18th CPC National Congress. He also said that Chinese youth in the new era have actively respond to the Party’s call and endeavor to devote themselves in the great cause of fully building a modern socialist country. It is hoped that the youth of China and Arab countries can be outstanding inheritors of the traditional China-Arab friendship, innovative promoters of the friendly China-Arab cooperation and firm builders of the China-Arab community with a shared future. Youth from the two sides are supposed to resolutely resist attempts to smear and undermine China-Arab relations and constantly open up new chapters for China-Arab relations.

Arab youth politicians and representatives who attended the meeting shared their experiences and sincere feelings in the process of knowing and understanding China and the CPC. In their opinion, the great success made by China under the leadership of the CPC has indicated that the western mode is not the only way to success, let alone the only development mode. During its development, China has demonstrated totally different ways of thinking and acting from western countries, which have offered crucial reference for Arab countries and profound influences on the view about the world and future of Arab youth. They are looking forward to more exchanges of experience on economy, humanities, education, fight again the epidemic and other fields, so as to make positive contributions to the building of the Arab-China community with a shared future.

Zhu Rui, Assistant Minister of the IDCPC, attended the meeting. This essay competition was initiated by the IDCPC, which attracted more than 150 young people from 15 Arab countries to submit essays or videos. Among them, 58 participants were awarded the first, second and third prizes. Lebanese youth Adam won the first prize for his essay “China Never Exports its Experience to Other Countries with Arrogance”.
