Chen Zhou Meets with Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, Nepali Ambassador to China Who is Going to Leave His Post

Beijing, October 22nd—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, Nepali Ambassador to China who is going to leave his post.

Chen spoke positively of the relations between the two countries and two Parties, appreciated Pandey’s contributions to promoting China-Nepal relations and intra-party exchanges during his tenure. He said this year marks the 50th anniversary of the restoration of China's lawful seat in the United Nations. The Chinese side is willing to, together with the Nepali side, strengthen cooperation and exchanges under multilateral organizations such as the United States, safeguard real multilateralism, and promote common development. Chen also mainly introduced the Global Development Initiative put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping and China’s whole-process people’s democracy.

Pandey thanked the Chinese side for the support during his tenure, and congratulated the CPC again on its centenary and the 50th anniversary of the restoration of China's lawful seat in the United Nations. He highly praised the Global Development Initiative put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the General Debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which holds great significance for promoting sustainable development, multilateralism and common development. He said the Nepali side is willing to reinforce experience exchange and mutual learning on state governance and administration with the Chinese side through intra-party channels, and better explore paths of democracy development suited to national conditions.
