Chen Zhou Attends Online Exchange Event with Political Parties of Southeast Asian and South Asian Countries

Beijing, October 26th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed here today on the afternoon an online exchange event held for political parties of Southeast Asian and South Asian countries to better understand the CPC. Over 100 people from nearly 30 political parties and political organizations of ten Southeast Asian and South Asian countries were present, including young political heavyweights, and representatives from media, think tanks, universities and colleges.

Chen mainly introduced the Global Development Initiative put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping and China’s whole-process people’s democracy. He said the CPC is willing to strengthen exchange and cooperation with regional political parties, create favorable conditions for the youth in the region to inherit our friendship, promote cooperation, and thrive, and jointly create new prospects for the development of the region.

The young political heavyweights present said, under the leadership of the CPC, China has made remarkable development achievements, providing valuable enlightenment for all countries to explore development paths suited to national conditions. They hoped to, together with the CPC, reinforce mutual learning and practical cooperation, promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, and help young people in the region better cope with the challenges posed by the COVID-19, so as to make greater contributions to safeguarding multilateralism, boosting regional cooperation and building an Asian community of shared future.
