Beijing, November 15th—Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended here today the opening ceremony of the webinar for cadres of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) of South Sudan and delivered a speech. Thirty mid-level and senior cadres of SPLM, including Bol Makueng Yol, SPLM Secretary for External Relations, and Hua Ning, Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, attended the Webinar.

Zhu spoke positively of China-South Sudan relations and said this year marks the 100th anniversary of CPC, the 10th anniversary of the independence of South Sudan, and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Sudan. The frequent interaction between the top leaders of the two parties and two countries has charted the course for and injected fresh impetus into the development of the bilateral relations. CPC applauds SPLM for supporting China on issues involving Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Taiwan, human rights, origin tracing of COVID-19 and other aspects, and is ready to maintain high-level exchanges, deepen cooperation on cadre training, strengthen governance exchanges, promote youth exchanges and non-governmental friendship, and boost China-South Sudan relations. Zhu also emphatically introduced the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.  

Hua Ning congratulated SPLM on the opening of the first webinar for the cadres and said that CPC and SPLM share similar ideas and missions, and support each other on issues of core interests and major concerns. The webinar will further strengthen the communication and cooperation between the ruling party of China and that of South Sudan, thus promoting relations between the two parties and two countries.

Makueng once again congratulated the CPC on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of CPC and the successful convening of the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. Makueng thanked China for supporting the political process of South Sudan and providing humanitarian assistance for South Sudan, saying that SPLM upholds the One China principle and would like to strengthen friendly exchanges with the CPC, draw on the advanced experience of CPC in party building, poverty alleviation and other aspects, and jointly enhancing governance capability and the livelihood of the people.
