Beijing, November 16th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held video talks here today with Boris Gryzlov, Chairman of the United Russia’s Supreme Council.

Song said, since the beginning of this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin have maintained close communication online, leading China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era for new progress. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the CPC and the United Russia. Our two parties successfully held the ninth meeting of China-Russia dialogue mechanism, further enhancing strategic mutual trust and consolidating the political foundation of China-Russia relations. The CPC is willing to, together with the United Russia, implement the importance consensus of the two heads of state in an all-round way, strengthen experience exchanges in state governance and party building, boost cooperation in various areas for more fruits, better benefit the two countries and two peoples, inject more positive energy to the international community, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Song mainly introduced the spirit of the sixth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee, saying that the session, held at a critical juncture in history, carries great historical significance. At the session, the Central Committee considered and adopted the Resolution on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party over the Past Century, systematically summarized the major achievements and historical experience of the CPC, particularly the historical achievements of the causes of the CPC and the country and historical transformation in the new era. The session further elaborated Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position in the Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and the far-reaching significance of defining the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The CPC will, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, relentlessly drive forward the historic process of national rejuvenation. The CPC will always stand on the right side of history and the side of human progress, remain a champion of world peace, a contributor to global development, and a defender of the international order.

Gryzlov warmly congratulated the CPC on the successful convening of the sixth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee, and thanked the Chinese side for the briefing. Gryzlov said, the Russian side highly commended the CPC’s people-centered development philosophy and great achievements over the past 100 years. The Russian side admired the Chinese people’s historical achievements made under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping, such as ending extreme poverty, building China into a moderately prosperous society in all respects and combating the COVID-19. The United Russia attaches great importance to maintaining close exchanges with the CPC, and stands ready to take the important consensus of the two heads of state as guidance, take the 20th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the CPC and the United Russia as the opportunity to continuously enhance the friendship and mutual trust between China and Russia and the exchanges between the two parties, to push Russia-China practical cooperation to a higher level, and contribute to world peace and development.
