Beijing, November 19th--The International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) held a thematic briefing here today on the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee through a combination of online and offline manner. More than 500 representatives from over160 political parties and organizations around the world, including Ivica Dacic, President of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and Serbia's National Assembly Speaker; Khuon Sodary, Member of the Standing Committee of the Cambodian People's Party and Second Vice President of the Cambodian National Assembly; Qasim Suri, leader of the Pakistan Movement for Justice and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan;Mohsen Basurra，member of Yemeni Islah Party，Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Yemen, leader of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform and Deputy Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament; Akpan Udoedeghe, National Secretary of the Transition Committee of the All Progressives Congress of Nigeria; Dilma Rousseff, leader of Brazil’s Workers' Party and former Brazilian President, and José Luis Centella, President of the Communist Party of Spain as well as nearly 100 diplomatic envoys in Beijing attended the event.

Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC, and experts and scholars including Han Zhen, Director of the Academic Committee of Beijing Normal University, and Chen Shuguang, Assistant Dean of the Department of Marxism Studies at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, briefed all foreign guests on the relevant information. They expressed that the session, held at a critical juncture in the history of China’s development, carries great historical significance. At the session, the Central Committee considered and adopted the Resolution on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party over the Past Century, systematically summarized the major achievements and historical experience of the CPC over the past 100 years, particularly the historical achievements, transformation and new experience of the causes of the CPC and the country in the new era. The Central Committee emphasized that the CPC has established Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. This reflects the common will of the Party, the armed forces, and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, and is of decisive significance for advancing the cause of the Party and the country in the new era and for driving forward the historic process of national rejuvenation. The Central Committee decided at the session that the CPC will convene its 20th National Congress, which will sound the clarion call for the CPC to march on a new journey and lead the Chinese people toward a greater goal that should be achieved in the new century.

The Chinese side stated that while pursuing happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the CPC has also contributed to human progress and world harmony. The CPC has correctly understood and handled China’s relations with the rest of the world in the context of the general trend of human development, the changes in the landscape of the international community, and the entire course of Chinese history. The CPC will adhere to developing socialist democracy and contribute to the advancement of human political civilization; adhere to a Chinese path to modernization and contribute to the advancement of world modernization; adhere to promoting high-quality development in order to contribute to achieving more robust, greener and more balanced global development; and adhere to fulfilling international responsibilities to contribute to the promotion of the peaceful development of mankind. The CPC is willing to work with political parties and all progressive forces from all over the world to continue to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and work together to build a better world.

The foreign participants warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the sixth plenary session. Speaking highly of the brilliant achievements made by the CPC under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core in the past century, especially since the 18th CPC National Congress, they believed that the session not only injects strong impetus into the CPC's new journey, but will also have a positive and far-reaching impact on the world's development process. They looked forward to strengthening friendly exchanges with the CPC, learning from the CPC’s successful experience, and deepening practical cooperation with the Chinese side in various fields for the common well-being of all mankind.
