Shen Beili Attends 8th China-Germany Business Conference of the Belt and Road Initiative

Beijing, November 22nd—The 8th China-Germany Business Conference of the Belt and Road Initiative opened here today. Shen Beili, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed here today the opening ceremony of the conference via video link. Wu Ken, Chinese Ambassador to Germany, Li Rui, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province, Bernd Althusmann, Deputy Governor of Lower Saxony, Germany and others attended the conference via video link.

Shen Beili said, China-Germany economic and trade cooperation has high complementarity and deeply integrated interests. The sound and stable development of China-Germany all-round strategic partnership has created more cooperation opportunities for the business and trade circles of both countries. She also expected that the conference will give play to its strengths, and promote practical cooperation between the two countries on the basis of mutually beneficial and win-win results. Shen introduced the spirit of sixth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee to the German side, and emphasized that the endeavors of the CPC over the past century not only changed the prospect and future of the Chinese people fundamentally, but also had a profound impact on the world history.

German participants said that although the world economy faces challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the industrial and commercial sectors of Germany still remain optimistic about the prospect of Chinese market, and stand ready to work with China to promote high quality development of Belt and Road Initiative as well as strengthen cooperation in digital economy, clean energy, reshaping of international industrial chain and other areas.

The 8th China-Germany Business Conference of the Belt and Road Initiative lasts from November 22nd to 24th, and is jointly held by China Economic Cooperation Center and RSBK. At the conference, more than 800 representatives of the industrial and commercial sectors from both countries exchanged views on eight issues including political situation and economic prospect.
