Beijing, December 21st--Guo Yezhou, Vice-minster of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the 12th World Socialism Forum here today.

This forum, with the theme of “inheritance and innovation on Marxism in the 21st century”, is organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In his speech, Guo Yezhou introduced the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and briefed on the IDCPC’s promotion of inheritance and innovation through intra-party communication channels.

Gao Xiang, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, and President and Party Secretary of the Chinese Academy of History of CASS, Jiang Hui, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Member of the Party Leadership Group, Director of Institute of Contemporary China Studies, and Dean of the Academy of Marxism, Li Shenming, former Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Director of the World Socialism Research Center of CASS, and Li Wentang, member of the administration committee and Director of the Department of Literature and History of the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC (National Academy of Administration) attended and addressed the function. Zhang Quanjing, former head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, former head of the National Society for Party Building Studies and Consultant of the World Socialism Research Center, sent a written congratulatory message to the forum. Chen Li, Director of the Academic and Editorial Committee of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, sent written remarks to the event.

Carlos Miguel Pereira, Cuban Ambassador to China attended and addressed the forum. Krenz Egon Rudi Ernst, General Secretary of the Socialist Unity Party of German Democratic Republic and Dmitriy Novikov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation attended and addressed the forum via videolink.
