Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene, MPP Chairman and Mongolian Prime Minister, Meets with Song Tao

Beijing, February 5th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene, Chairman of Mongolian People's Party (MPP) and Mongolian Prime Minister.

Oyun-Erdene congratulated on the complete success of the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. He said, held as scheduled despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Olympic Winter Games will make positive contributions to consolidating international peace and promoting world solidarity, as well as boost mankind’s confidence in prevailing over the pandemic. He added, the MPP warmly congratulates the CPC with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core of the CPC Central Committee on leading the Chinese people to achieve remarkable economic development achievements, and eradicating absolute poverty for the first time in China’s history in particular. It is not only the success of the Chinese people, but also the success of the people in Asia as a whole. As both Parties are moving towards a new centenary, the MPP is willing to work with the CPC according to the Memorandum of Cooperation between both Parties to strengthen political guidance on the relations between China and Mongolia, facilitate exchanges in all areas such as youth, women and enterprises, intensify economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, and provide more political support for facilitating customs clearance, accelerating connectivity of infrastructure construction, and reinforcing cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. He also gave General Secretary Xi Jinping a saddle as a gift in the name of the MPP, and wished the CPC greater achievements on the journey towards the next century.

Song welcomed Oyun-Erdene, who came to China to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, and thanked the Mongolian side for firmly supporting the Chinese side in hosting the Winter Olympics. Song said, as friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, China and Mongolia have maintained sound development momentum in their bilateral relations these years. Last year, General Secretary Xi Jinping had a phone conversation with Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, reaching a series of consensus on enriching the connotation of China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era and further charting the course for the development of China-Mongolia relations. The Chinese side is willing to, together with the Mongolian side, well implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, enhance political mutual trust, beef up coordination and cooperation, firmly support each other on issues concerning respective core interests, better integrate development strategies and push China-Mongolia relations to a new high in the new era.

Song said, at present, the world is facing the combined impacts of a pandemic and major changes unseen in a century. The CPC is ready to intensify high-level exchanges with the MPP, strengthen mutual learning and exchanges on party building, economic development, and social governance, propel friendly exchanges on youth, women and non-governmental organizations, and jointly safeguard international fairness and justice. Song also introduced the spirit of the sixth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee.

Batmunkh Battsetseg, Mongolian Foreign Minister, T.Ayursaikhan, Deputy Speaker of State Great Khural,B.Javkhlan, Minister of Finance and Minister of Economy and Development, and Tuvshin Badral, Mongolian Ambassador to China, were present.
