Beijing, August 22nd—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed here today the dialogue with the Party of the European Left (PEL). Themed on "safeguarding world peace and development: responsibilities and cooperation of progressive forces", the dialogue was attended by officials and experts of the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC (National Academy of Governance), National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and representatives of the PEL, its partner parties and organizations.

Combining the successful hosting of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Qian stressed the great significance of maintaining the solidarity among the peoples across the world, as well as promoting world peace and development. He mainly introduced the peaceful development road the CPC adheres to and the people-centered philosophy and practice. He said, the CPC is willing to join hands with the progressive forces in the world, including the PEL, to strengthen solidarity and cooperation, demonstrate the sense of responsibility, jointly advance world peace and development, and push for the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Representatives of the European side spoke highly of the CPC’s important contributions to promoting world peace and development, and to the progress of the mankind. They believed under the current global challenges, the two sides should enhance dialogue and cooperation. They said, the dialogue further builds the consensus between both sides, and expands cooperation network. The PEL is willing to further deepen communication and cooperation with the CPC to make greater contributions to promoting world peace and development.
