Song said, 2021 is a year of milestones in the history of the CPC and China. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, the Party's external work has thoroughly implemented Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Centering on serving the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the major diplomatic agenda of General Secretary Xi Jinping, we have successfully hosted the CPC and World Political Parties Summit, completed related work on the congratulatory messages (letters) from the international community to the CPC's 100th anniversary, and carried out in-depth research on the theory and practice of the CPC's external work over the past 100 years. We have deepened exchanges with socialist countries and progressive forces, consolidated partnerships with global political parties, firmly safeguarded China's sovereignty, security and development interests with the spirit of struggling, well told the stories of China and the CPC in the new era, and promoted the CPC's external work for high-quality development.

Song emphasized, the new development and achievements of the CPC's external work are attributed to the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, and they are also inseparable from the strong support and cooperation of various departments and localities. Various departments and localities have participated in the Party's external work with greater enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity, introduced more and more measures combining their own characteristics and advantages and development needs, made more remarkable achievements in serving the local economic and social development and the overall situation of China's diplomacy, and promoted the Party's external work for all-round, multi-channel, wide-ranging, and in-depth development. The Party's external work is more and more prominent in its multi-party coordination, pragmatism and efficiency. In the face of profound changes unseen in a century, the Party's external work has once again profoundly demonstrated with new practices and achievements that resolutely adhering to the establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and the defining of the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is the fundamental principle for in-depth development of the Party's external work in the new era; deeply grasping the positioning of "three importants" (the Party's external work forms an important part of the Party, represents an important component of China's overall diplomacy, and is an important manifestation of China's major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics) for the Party's external work is the guiding principle for in-depth development of the Party's external work in the new era; actively conforming to the historical trend and promoting the building of a new type of relationship between the CPC and the world is an important mission for in-depth development of the Party's external work in the new era; and serving national rejuvenation and promoting human progress is the fundamental task of the Party's external work in the new era.

Song said, 2022 is an important year for China to enter a new journey towards building a modern socialist country in an all-round way and marching towards the second centenary goal. The 20th CPC National Congress will also be held in 2022. The CPC's external work needs to continue to take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guide, take fully welcoming, promoting and implementing the 20th CPC National Congress as the main work throughout the year, closely focus on the concerns of the CPC Central Committee, strengthen overall planning, give full play to unique advantages, optimize resource allocation, step up theoretical and practical innovation in an in-depth manner, and strive to elevate the Party's external work to new highs in the new era, so as to welcome the 20th CPC National Congress with excellent performance.
