Beijing, March 22nd—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held a video call here today with Luciana Santos, President of the Communist Party of Brazil.

　　Song congratulated the Communist Party of Brazil on its upcoming 100th anniversary, saying that the CPC and the Communist Party of Brazil have a long history of friendly relations. In recent years, the two sides have enjoyed closer exchanges at all levels, making important contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples and promoting the development of the relations between the two countries. Standing at a new historical starting point, the CPC is willing to work with the Communist Party of Brazil to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, strengthen communication and coordination, deepen experience exchanges and mutual learning in party governance and state administration, promote a stable and far-reaching comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Brazil, promote communication and cooperation between the two countries in the UN, the BRICS, the G20 and other multilateral frameworks, practice true multilateralism, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.

　　Song introduced the great historical significance of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the Resolution adopted at the session, especially the decisive significance of the establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He said, since the 18th CPC National Congress, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, and Chinese communists, with Comrade Xi Jinping as their chief representative, have created Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, led the CPC and China to make historic achievements and changes, created a new Chinese path to modernization and a new form of human civilization. Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era is the Marxism of contemporary China and of the 21st century, and the essence of Chinese culture and Chinese spirit. It has achieved a new breakthrough in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context. Song also introduced the "five paths China must take to" that General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed at the Fifth Session of the 13th National People's Congress.

　　Santos thanked China for congratulating the Communist Party of Brazil on its upcoming centenary. She said, the Communist Party of Brazil values its traditional friendship with the CPC and is sincerely happy for the great success the CPC has achieved in the path of building socialism over the past century. The Communist Party of Brazil extends warm congratulations on the new historic achievements China has made under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core since the 18th CPC National Congress. The Communist Party of Brazil closely follows the latest development of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and believes it will not only be a comprehensive guide for China's socialist cause, but will also make new contributions to promoting multi-polarization of the world and defending the interests of developing countries. 　　Santos also expressed deep sorrow over the plane crash of China Eastern Airlines and extended heartfelt condolences to the Chinese government and people on behalf of the Communist Party of Brazil. Song expressed his gratitude.
