Zhu Rui Attends the Opening Ceremony of Webinar for Cadres of Iraq’s PUK

Beijing, April 12th—Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the webinar for cadres of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) of Iraq. Amin Babasheikh, Member of the Political Bureau and the minister of the public relations of the PUK, and others were present.

Speaking positively of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries, Zhu said, the CPC cherishes the friendly relationship with the PUK and is willing to further consolidate political mutual trust, deepen the exchange of ideas, strengthen media cooperation with the PUK, and push for more tangible results between China and Iraq under the frameworks of the Belt and Road cooperation and the oil-for-reconstruction agreement, so as to promote China-Iraq strategic partnership for greater development. Zhu also briefed on the experience of the CPC's century-long struggle and achievements and whole-process people's democracy.

Amin spoke highly of the outstanding contributions made by the CPC to realizing China's independence and development, and promoting world peace and human progress over the past century, and wished the 20th CPC National Congress a complete success and hoped the CPC to lead China to achieve greater prosperity and progress. Amin also stressed that the PUK attaches great importance to the traditional friendship with the CPC, and is willing to learn from the CPC's ideas and experience in exploring the path of democratic development, promoting socialist construction, poverty alleviation, and anti-corruption, so as to make greater contributions to enhancing political mutual trust between the two sides and deepening the friendly cooperation between Iraq and China as well as between the Kurdistan region and China.
