The Third China-Central Asia Political Parties Forum Held

Beijing, April 14th—the third China-Central Asia political parties forum, themed on "resolutely follow the development paths suitable to national conditions: responsibilities of political parties", was held here today via videolink by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC). Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC and Ma Xingrui, Secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC attended and addressed the function. Leaders of 20 major political parties of five Central Asian countries including Rinat Kertayev, Secretary of the AMANAT party of Kazakhstan, Aibek Matkerimov, Chairman of Ata-Jurt Kyrgyzstan, Azizi Abdujabbor Abdukahhor, First Deputy Chairman of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan (PDPT), Ata Serdarov, Chairman of Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, and Akmal Saidov, First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan attended the forum and delivered speeches.

Song said, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and five Central Asian countries. General Secretary Xi Jinping and the five heads of state have maintained close communication and exchange, and jointly set out a grand blueprint for the development of relations between both sides. This has provided important strategic guidance for China and five Central Asian countries to deepen political mutual trust and mutually-beneficial cooperation on all fronts, and charted the course for both sides to promote regional peace and stability and benefit people of China and five Central Asian countries. Faced with changes and a pandemic both unseen in a century, the CPC is willing to, together with the political parties of the five Central Asian countries, strengthen strategic communication, firmly support each other in following the paths suitable to national conditions, push forward exchanges and mutual learning among cultures in an in-depth manner, deepen the integration of development strategies of all countries, and promote the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative and Global Development Initiative. Both sides need to, by making use of bilateral and multilateral mechanisms, strengthen the regional security net, resolutely combat the "three forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism, resolutely oppose interferences in the internal affairs of other countries on the excuse of human rights, jointly resist the resurgence of bloc confrontation, oppose unilateral sanctions and bullying, and contribute wisdoms and strengths to the building of China-Central Asia community with a shared future. Song also introduced the CPC's and China's huge achievements under the strong leadership of CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core since the 18th CPC National Congress.

Ma said, since the 18th CPC National Congress, under the strong leadership of CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the CPC committee and government of Xinjiang have stayed committed to a people-centered development philosophy, regarded seeking happiness for the people of all ethnic groups as the mission, and led people of all ethnic groups of Xinjiang to score unprecedented achievements in economic and social development and improving people's livelihood with the vigorous support of the country and the selfless assistance from all parts of the country. This has given people of all ethnic groups a greater sense of happiness, benefit and security. Xinjiang and the five countries are geographically linked, and share a long-standing friendship. In the new development era, Xinjiang will earnestly implement the important spirit of the speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the virtual summit commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and five Central Asian countries, and the important consensus reached by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the five heads of state. Xinjiang will take the construction of the core zones of Silk Road Economic Belt as the good opportunity to advance cooperation with the five countries in economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural engagement, anti-epidemic, and security in an in-depth manner, and resolutely oppose politicizing human rights and playing double standards on human right issues, so as to make new contributions to promoting exchanges between the political parties of China and the five Central Asian countries and relations between China and the five countries, to safeguarding regional peace and stability, and to the building of China-Central Asia community with a shared future.

The political leaders of the five countries warmly congratulated on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and five Central Asian countries, and spoke positively of China's remarkable achievements in ending extreme poverty, combating the COVID-19 epidemic, and economic and social development under the strong leadership of CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core. They strongly endorsed the guiding significance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and its meaningful reference for the world. They believed China's success provides impetus and confidence for the five countries to stick to the paths suitable to their national conditions. The political parties of the five countries stood ready to work with the CPC to jointly implement the consensus reached by the five heads of state and General Secretary Xi Jinping, deepen political mutual trust, promote the building of the Belt and Road Initiative through inter-party channels, strengthen practical cooperation with provinces of China including Xinjiang, The five Central Asian are willing to, together with China, be an example of good-neighborliness. The five Central Asian countries will resolutely oppose unrest in the region by external forces, and will strengthen cooperation through the platforms such as Shanghai Cooperation Organization, combat common enemies of mankind such as the "three forces", and jointly safeguard regional development and stability, in a bid to push relations between the five countries and China for new progress.

Erkin Tuniyaz, Deputy Secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC and Governor of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and others were present. Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the forum.
