Chen Zhou Has a Video Call with Ratsirahonana, Former Prime Minister of Madagascar and Member of the SRTA International Advisory Board

Beijing, May 25th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Co-Chairman of the Council of the Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA), had a video call here today with Ratsirahonana, Former Prime Minister of Madagascar and Member of the SRTA International Advisory Board.

Chen spoke positively of China-Madagascar relations and China-Africa relations, saying that the distinctive path to win-win cooperation of China and Africa has set a model for building a new type of international relations. China and Madagascar have achieved fruitful results in political mutual trust, economic and trade cooperation, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and non-governmental exchanges within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. China is willing to continue to strengthen practical cooperation with the Madagascan side to push the building of the China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era for new achievements and to new highs. Chen also mainly briefed on the relevant information of the upcoming 20th CPC National Congress.

Ratsirahonana spoke highly of the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Africa and appreciated China's support to Madagascar in such areas as infrastructure, agricultural technology, energy development, people's livelihood and employment. He expressed his willingness to play an active role as a member of the SRTA International Advisory Board to contribute to promoting the development of Madagascar-China relations, enhancing Africa-China cooperation and promoting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road cooperation.
