Beijing, June 7th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held here today a video call with Maria Rizzotti, President of Italian Parliament Association “Friends of China”. Senators from Forza Italia, the Democratic Party and the Five Star Movement were present.

Qian comprehensively introduced the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping in light of the current international situation, and elaborated in an in-depth manner the great historical significance of the 20th CPC National Congress to be held in the second half of this year. Speaking positively of the contributions the Italian Parliament Association "Friends of China" has made to promoting the friendly exchanges between China and Italy over the years, Qian expressed the willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the association to jointly promote the development of China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership and China-European Union comprehensive strategic partnership.

Rizzotti spoke positively of the world-renowned achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC, and highly appreciated the CPC's outstanding contributions to maintaining world peace and development. Rizzotti wished the 20th CPC National Congress a complete success, and said that the Association "Friends of China" will further deepen its exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side, and make more tangible contributions to facilitating the people-to-people connectivity between Italy and China and the development of Italy-China relations.
