Shen Beili Attends China-Mexico Business Dialogue

Beijing, June 23rd—The China-Mexico Business Dialogue was held via video link here today. Shen Beili, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Yeidckol Polevnsky, President of the Friendship Group Mexico-China at the Mexican Congress, Li Rongcan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, and Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, Governor of the State of Baja California of Mexico, attended the dialogue and made keynote speeches respectively.

Shen said that under the guidance of the two heads of state, bilateral political mutual trust has been strengthened in recent years, and the connotation of China-Mexico comprehensive strategic partnership has been enriched. The pragmatic cooperation between China and Mexico enjoys strong resilience and great potential. China always insists on opening-up, which will provide more market, development and growth opportunities for the global business communities, including the Mexican business community.

Polevnsky said, bilateral relations have entered a new stage since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations 50 years ago. China's Belt and Road Initiative has provided the countries around the world with a mechanism and platform for development cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides will further dovetail their development strategies and promote the implementation of more practical cooperation projects.

Li said, Hubei has always been an important participant and firm promoter of friendship and cooperation between China and Mexico. It is hoped that this dialogue will enable Hubei and Mexico to further share market opportunities, promote industrial cooperation in wider areas, and strengthen people-to-people exchanges in a larger scope.

Avila said, Baja California has established sister-city relationship with many Chinese cities, which has strongly promoted the fruitful cooperation between the two sides in many fields such as trade, economy, education, culture and sports. Baja California is willing to continue to deepen the exchanges between the two sides in the economic, trade, social and cultural fields.

At the meeting, more than 70 representatives from local authorities, enterprises and universities of the two countries conducted in-depth exchanges around cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure construction, aviation, aerospace, biotechnology, culture and sports and other fields.
