Qian Hongshan Attends 15th Foreign and Security Policy Dialogue between CPC and SPD

Beijing, June 27th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended here today the 15th Foreign and Security Policy Dialogue between the CPC and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) centering on China-Germany relations and China-European Union (EU) relations under the profound changes in the world via video link.

Qian introduced in an in-depth manner the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping in light of the current international situation, highly spoke of the positive roles played by the CPC and the SPD in promoting China-Germany relations and China-EU relations. He expressed the CPC's willingness to continue to strengthen exchanges and institutional dialogues between the two Parties at all levels, join hands to address global challenges, and inject fresh impetus into the development of bilateral relations.

Gabriela Heinrich, Group Vice-Chairwoman of the SPD in the German Bundestag, said, the SPD attaches importance to developing its relations with the CPC and is willing to continue to carry forward the tradition of friendship between the two Parties, strengthen exchanges and dialogues, and make joint contributions to addressing global challenges such as climate change, maintaining world peace and stability and the international order of multilateralism.

Experts and scholars from the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, National Defense University of People’s Liberation Army, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the China Institute of International Studies, as well as many SPD members of the Bundestag and the European Parliament, attended the dialogue and had in-depth discussions on the theme.
