Zhu Rui Attends Opening Ceremony of Webinar for cadres of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations

Beijing, June 28th—Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended and addressed here today the opening ceremony of  the webinar for cadres of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations. Abbas Araghchi, Secretary of Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, former Deputy Foreign Minister, and former nuclear negotiator of Iran, and others were present.

Zhu spoke positively of China-Iran relations and cooperation, and said that this year marks the beginning of the second 50-year development of China-Iran relations, and the fifth year of the establishment of relations between the IDCPC and Strategic Council on Foreign Relations. The IDCPC is willing to work with the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations to implement the strategic consensus between President Xi Jinping and President Ebrahim Raisi, enhance concept exchanges, intensify strategic communication, strengthen cooperation in research and communication, and push China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership for continuous and in-depth development. Zhu also introduced relevant situation of the 20th CPC National Congress and the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important remarks at the BRICS-related events.

Araghchi wished the 20th CPC National Congress a complete success, and spoke highly of China’s remarkable achievements in all areas under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, thanked President Xi Jinping for inviting President Ebrahim Raisi to attend the High-level Dialogue on Global Development, and conveyed congratulations of Kamal Kharazi, Chairman of Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, on Liu Jianchao’s assumption of new post as Minister of the IDCPC. Araghchi stressed, Strategic Council on Foreign Relations is willing to, together with the IDCPC, further enhance mutual learning on diplomatic concepts, communication on diplomatic policies, and coordination of international affairs, jointly oppose hegemony and unilateralism, and safeguard international fairness and justice.

Both sides also exchanged views on the Iranian nuclear issue and the situation in the Middle East.
