Liu Jianchao Holds a Video Call with Le Hoai Trung, Head of the Commission for External Relations of the CPV Central Committee

Beijing, July 6th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), held here today a video call with Le Hoai Trung, Head of the Commission for External Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

Liu said, China and Vietnam are both socialist countries led by communist parties and a community with a shared future with strategic significance. In recent years, General Secretary Xi Jinping has maintained close communication with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, guiding the development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries in the new era. At present, China-Vietnam relations maintain positive development momentum, with highlights in economic, trade and investment cooperation, continuously deepened industrial cooperation, and fruitful results in anti-pandemic cooperation, demonstrating the high quality and high level of China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Under the new situation, the CPC is willing to work with the CPV to implement the important consensus reached by General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, actively serve the agenda of exchanges between the top leaders of the two Parties, deepen the exchange and mutual learning of theory and experience on state governance and administration, strengthen exchanges and cooperation between counterpart departments, implement the cooperation plan for cadre training of the two Parties and promote the healthy and stable development of China-Vietnam relations.

Liu emphasized that in the second half of this year, the CPC will hold the 20th CPC National Congress. This is a very important congress convened at a critical moment as the CPC has began a new journey toward the second centenary goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects. It is a major event in the political life of the Party and the country. The Chinese side is willing to inform the CPV of the relevant situation in a timely manner after the congress. Liu also briefed on the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, saying that the Chinese side is willing to work with ASEAN countries including Vietnam to strengthen cooperation in various fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, and jointly promote regional and world peace and development.

Le Hoai Trung congratulated the CPC on its 101st anniversary and spoke highly of the world-renowned development achievements the Chinese people made under the leadership of the CPC. He believed that under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core and the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, China will make greater achievements on the new journey of building a modern socialist country in all respects. The Vietnamese side supports and actively participates in the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative and other initiatives proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties, strengthen cooperation in various fields covering party building, theoretical discussions, and cadre training between the two Parties, learn from China's experience and practices in overall law-based governance, and jointly lift the relations between the two Parties and the two countries to a new level. The Vietnamese side attaches great importance to the 20th CPC National Congress to be held in the second half of this year. The Vietnamese side looks forward to the 20th CPC National Congress and wishes it a complete success.
