Liu Jianchao Meets with Mohamad Maliki Osman, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Education & Foreign Affairs and Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Development and Deputy Party Whip of the People's Action Party of Singapore

Singapore, July 14th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with Mohamad Maliki Osman, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Education & Foreign Affairs and Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Development and Deputy Party Whip of the People's Action Party (PAP) during his stopover in Singapore.

Liu said that Singapore is a long-term and important cooperation partner of China. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Singapore relations and pragmatic cooperation in various fields enjoy vigorous development and make positive contributions to regional prosperity and stability. The Chinese side is willing to deepen political mutual trust with the Singaporean side, strengthen strategic coordination, and continuously promote China-Singapore relations and China-ASEAN relations to a new level. The CPC is willing to strengthen strategic communication and deepen exchanges and mutual learning with the PAP.

The Singaporean side said, it attaches great importance to friendship and cooperation with China. The Singaporean side is willing to work with China to steadily restore connectivity and continue to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. The Singaporean side is willing to continue to strengthen inter-party exchanges and promote the development of bilateral relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
