Liu Jianchao Holds Discussions and Exchanges with Representatives of Chinese Communities in the Philippines

Manila, August 28th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held discussions and exchanges here today with the heads of Chinese communities in the Philippines, including the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII), the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Association of the Philippines Foundation Inc. (FFCAP), the Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. (PCCCII), the Philippine-Chinese Charitable Association Inc., Philippine Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China Inc. (PCPPRC), and the Manila Overseas Chinese Service Center.

Liu spoke positively of the work and efforts of the Chinese communities in the Philippines in supporting the economic and social development of China, strengthening China-Philippines friendship, fighting against the COVID-19 epidemic and championing the one-China principle. He hoped the Chinese communities in the Philippines will continue to care and support the development and construction of China and always be the bridge and bond for China-Philippines friendship.

The heads of the Chinese Communities in the Philippines introduced the recent development of their respective associations and their support for the cooperation between China and the Philippines in such areas as the fight against the epidemic, and expressed their gratitude to the CPC and the Chinese government for their long-term care. They expressed the willingness to continue to make active efforts to promote the everlasting friendship between China and the Philippines, promote the peaceful reunification of China and oppose "Taiwan independence".
