Indonesian President Joko Widodo Meets with Liu Jianchao

Bogor, August 30th—Joko Widodo, Indonesian President, met here today on the morning with Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, at the Bogor Palace.

Joko said, I paid a successful visit to China not long ago, reaching much important consensus on practical cooperation in various areas between our two countries with President Xi Jinping. I hope both sides will strengthen coordination and integration, push cooperation in such areas as trade in agricultural products and fishery products, investment and telecommunications, and translate the consensus of the leaders of both countries into tangible results. The Indonesian side thanked the Chinese side for supporting it in holding the rotating presidency of the Group of 20 (G20) and the ASEAN's core position in regional framework. Indonesia supports the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs and jointly address the urgent issues of the world. He said, I support political parties of both countries in strengthening exchanges and cooperation and playing a more important role in the development of bilateral relations.

Liu said, recent years have witnessed robust development and broad prospects of China-Indonesia relations under the joint guidance of the two heads of state. Cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment and infrastructure has huge investments, a large scale and strong sustainability. The two countries have become a model of mutual benefit and win-win results for large developing countries. Putting relations with Indonesia in a priority position in China's diplomatic work, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Indonesian side to comprehensively implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, deepen cooperation in various areas, jointly advance projects of the Belt and Road Initiative, and push bilateral cooperation for more results. The Chinese side will fully support Indonesia in hosting the G20 summit, strengthen solidarity and coordination with the ASEAN, and jointly safeguard the right direction of East Asian cooperation. The CPC is willing to, together with all political parties of Indonesia, continue to deepen concept exchanges and experience exchanges in state governance and administration, integrate people-to-people and youth exchanges and other friendly exchanges through inter-party channels, and consolidate the political and non-governmental foundation for the friendship between the two countries.
