Zhu spoke positively of the relations between the two Parties and countries, saying that the two countries have understood and supported each other on issues concerning respective core interests and major concerns for a long time, which greatly boosted bilateral friendship and trust. Zhu stressed that the CPC is willing to further strengthen the friendly relations with the Syrian Baath Party, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen concept communication, push youth exchanges, reinforce media cooperation, and constantly inject impetus into the development of China-Syria relations. Zhu also mainly introduced the relevant situation of the upcoming 20th CPC National Congress.

Bassam spoke highly of China's remarkable development achievements made under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping, reiterated the firm commitment of the Syrian side to the one-China principle and wished the 20th CPC National Congress a complete success. He was confident that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the CPC will certainly make new and greater victories. He stressed that the Syrian Baath Party is ready to further learn the concept and experience from the CPC, deepen cooperation in cadre training between the two Parties, and make greater contributions to pushing the development of Syria-China relations.
