Chen Zhou Attends the 6th International Forum on the Belt and Road Initiative and Global Governance

Beijing, November 11th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Co-Chairman of the Council of the Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA), attended and addressed here today the opening ceremony of the 6th International Forum on the Belt and Road Initiative and Global Governance via video link.

Chen said, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in the report to the 20th CPC National Congress that the Belt and Road Initiative has been welcomed by the international community both as a public good and a cooperation platform. We should promote the high-quality development of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, closely combine the promotion of high-quality and joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with the promotion of the common values of all mankind, and the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, and work with the international community to promote the reform and development of the global governance system and translate the grand blueprint of building a community with a shared future for mankind into reality step by step.

The forum was co-hosted by SRTA and Fudan University, with the theme of New Opportunities and New Challenges: B&R and Global Governance in a New Era . Jiao Yang, Secretary of the CPC Fudan University Committee, Vincent H. S. Lo, Chairman of the Shui On Group, Chen Zhimin, Vice President of Fudan University, György H Matolcsy, Governor of the Hungarian Central  Bank, Zhou Qiangwu, Vice President of the New Development Bank, Susan Thornton, Senior Fellow and Research Scholar at the Yale University Paul Tsai China Center and others attended the event. They had in-depth discussions on topics such as global governance, the new situation facing the Belt and Road Initiative, and global security and development in a changing world.
