The IDCPC Holds a Special Briefing on the Spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress for Representatives of Foreign Business Communities in China

Beijing, November 18th－The International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) held here today a special briefing on the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress for the representatives of foreign business communities in China, which was attended by more than 120 representatives of business associations and famous enterprises in China from more than 20 countries and regions, including the European Union, the United States, Russia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Thailand, Israel and Mexico. Shen Beili, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Zhao Peng, director of the fifth economic bureau of the Central Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Zhang Jianping, Deputy Director of the Academic Steering Committee of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce of China, introduced the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress to the representatives of foreign business communities in China.

Shen said that the 20th CPC National Congress systematically summarized the work of the past five years and the great changes in the first decade of the new era, clearly specified the central tasks of the CPC in the new era and new journey, and charted the course and established a guide to action for China's future development. China will speed up fostering a new development pattern and focus on promoting high-quality development. China's determinations to expand high-level opening-up to the outside world, to share development opportunities with the world, and to maintain and lead economic globalization remain unchanged, and China will continue to provide opportunities for the world through its own development.

Zhao introduced China's important measures to promote high-quality development and the world significance of a Chinese path to modernization. High-quality development is the primary task of building a modern socialist country in all respects, and a Chinese path to modernization is a process of opening-up, cooperation and win-win results. China will unswervingly expand opening-up, pursue an open strategy of mutual benefit and win-win results, and promote the building of an open world economy, so as to make development better benefit all peoples.

Zhang introduced China's major measures and important significance in promoting high-level opening-up to the outside world, emphasizing that China is an important engine of world economic growth, the Chinese economy and the world economy are interdependent and deeply integrated with each other, and China's institutional opening-up will bring new development opportunities for the world economy.

Conducting exchanges with the representatives of foreign business associations and well-known enterprises, Shen and others also answered questions from the representatives at the briefing. The foreign representatives expressed their gratitude to the International Department of the CPC Central Committee for holding the briefing on the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, which made them more confident in China's development prospect and strengthened their determination to develop in China. The representatives expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation with China in economic, trade, investment and other fields to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results and promote common development.
