Liu noted, the Chinese side attaches great importance to its relations with Europe, supports the European integration process and the European Union (EU)'s solidarity and self-improvement and its strategic autonomy. The Chinese side is committed to jointly building the four major China-EU partnerships with the EU. Liu also hoped that the two sides will well implement the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and EU leaders, properly manage and control differences, deepen cooperation in various fields, and contribute to world peace, stability and development.

Jorge Toledo said, the EU side attaches great importance to developing its relations with China. In the face of historic changes in the international landscape and negative voices such as division and "decoupling" in geopolitics, it is particularly important to maintain the positive development momentum of EU-China relations. The EU is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges, communication and cooperation in various fields with the Chinese side, properly handle differences between the two sides, and promote the sound and stable development of EU-China relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, among others.
