Liu Jianchao Meets with Danish Ambassador to China

Beijing, February 1st—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Thomas Østrup Møller, the Danish Ambassador to China.

Liu said, Denmark is one of the first Western countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China and is also a comprehensive strategic partner of China in the Nordic region. At present, China-Denmark relations maintain good momentum of development, and the CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Danish political parties to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations. Liu also introduced the main outcomes of the 20th CPC National Congress at inquiry and said that China will insist on opening-up and developing the market economy, and provide new opportunities for the world through China's new development.

Møller said, Denmark attaches great importance to its comprehensive strategic partnership with China and is willing to take advantage of the adjustment of China’s COVID response policies to promote exchanges and mutual understanding between the two peoples and deepen bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, health care, food and climate change. The Danish side attaches importance to inter-party exchanges between the two sides and will actively support exchanges and communication between political parties of the two countries.
