Qian welcomed the Ambassador's assumption of the new post, and positively evaluated China-Cyprus relations and inter-party exchanges. He expressed that the Chinese side is willing to work together with the Cypriot side to consolidate political mutual trust and promote the continuous development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Mavrommatis said, Cyprus-China relations have enjoyed a long history. The Cypriot side is willing to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various fields, deepen inter-party exchanges and continue to contribute to the development of Cyprus-China relations and European Union-China relations.
