Chen Zhou Attends a Roundtable for Power Cooperation Between China and Myanmar under the Belt and Road Initiative

Beijing, March 22nd—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Co-Chairman of the Council of the Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA), attended here today a roundtable for power cooperation between China and Myanmar under the Belt and Road Initiative via video link and delivered a speech. Chen introduced the important spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-level Meeting. He said that the Chinese side is willing to work with the Myanmar side to accelerate the implementation of the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries on jointly building the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, and promote major cooperation projects to achieve tangible results. The roundtable was jointly organized by the China Center for Contemporary World Studies of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Development Research Think Tank of China of the Development Research Center of the State Council, and other institutions. U Thaung Han, Union Minister for the Ministry of Electric Power of Myanmar, as well as related leaders and experts in the energy sector from both China and Myanmar, participated in the discussions.
