"Modern World: Forum on the Common Progress of Civilizations of China and Palestine" Held in Nanjing

Nanjing, March 31st—The third bureau of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and Contemporary World Magazine held here today "modern world: forum on the common progress of civilizations of China and Palestine". Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the IDCPC, attended and addressed the function. Ahmed Majdalani, Secretary General of the Popular Struggle Front of Palestine and Palestinian Minister of Social Development, and Zou Yajun, Vice President of Nanjing University delivered speeches. Yang Jing, deputy head of Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, presided over the forum. Responsible officials of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the State Organs Work Committee of the CPC, and relevant departments of Nanjing University as well as three members of the politburo of Popular Struggle Front of Palestine delivered speeches. Calling the forum an important action to implement the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, Zhu expressed the CPC's sincere wish to work with political parties in the world, including Arab countries, to promote modernization with their own characteristics, facilitate exchanges and mutual learning among global civilizations, and push the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. China has always firmly supported the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights. The CPC and political parties in Arab countries have actively followed the development trend of the times, the needs of China-Arab cooperation and the common expectations of the people, and established and improved dialogue platforms such as the China-Arab Political Parties Dialogue, the China-Arab States Young Leaders Forum and the Belt and Road exchange mechanism for political parties of China and the Arab states, making positive contributions to promoting the construction of a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Palestinian side to safeguard the interests of the vast number of developing countries and jointly seek solutions to global issues. Majdalani thanked the Chinese side for always firmly supporting the just cause of the Palestinian people. Majdalani said the Palestinian side highly appreciates the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and is willing to join hands with the Chinese side to promote respective modernization through exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, explore a path to modernization that suits its own national conditions, and expects the Chinese side to play a greater role in solving regional hotspot issues and global challenges. Chinese and foreign guests present made keynote speeches, exchanged views and answered questions on the China-Palestine civilization exchange and dialogue in the new era, and the joint promotion of China-Arab friendly cooperation and win-win cooperation.
