Beijing, April 13th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with Rudolf Scharping, former Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and Chairman of RSBK AG. The two sides exchanged views on the current international situation, China-Germany and China-EU relations. Qian introduced the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and “the two sessions”. He stressed that China will accelerate the building of a new development paradigm, strive to pursue high-quality development, and unswervingly promote reform and opening up. China’s new development will provide new opportunities for companies from all countries, including Germany, to develop in China. He also said that China is willing to provide a platform for “political party plus pragmatic cooperation" and work with the German side to bring China-Germany and China-EU practical cooperation into a new stage. Scharping expressed that the German business community attaches great importance to the Chinese market, and will take the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative as an opportunity to increase exchanges with Chinese local governments and enterprises under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative this year.
