Liu said, China and Portugal are comprehensive strategic partners. Over the years, the two countries have adhered to mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win results, becoming a model of win-win cooperation between countries with different social systems and different historical backgrounds. Founded in the same year, the PCP and the CPC both have glorious histories. In the face of changes unseen in a century in the world, the CPC is willing to deepen mutual learning with the PCP, jointly promote the development of socialism in the world, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, promote the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative, jointly maintain fairness and justice in the world, enhance political mutual trust, support each other on issues involving each other's core interests, promote the healthy and stable development of China-Portugal and China-EU relations, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Liu said, great achievements have been made in China's economic and social development since the beginning of the new era. The key to these achievements lies in Comrade Xi Jinping's core position in the CPC Central Committee and in the CPC as a whole, and the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era. The CPC is carrying out a themed education campaign on learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, equipping the CPC with the latest achievements of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times, building broad consensus and pooling strengths of the entire CPC, and advancing Chinese modernization through high-quality development. This will bring more development opportunities to countries all over the world, including Portugal. The Chinese side is willing to join hands with the Portuguese side to advance the modernization process, to let the people benefit more from the results of modernization.

Raimundo warmly congratulated the CPC on the successful convening of the 20th CPC National Congress, and Comrade Xi Jinping's election as the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee. He said that during this visit, he witnessed the tremendous development China has achieved in recent years, and he felt that the commitments made by the CPC to the people and the plans of Chinese modernization formulated by the CPC can be realized. The world today is fraught with wars and conflicts. The CPC leads China to uphold a peaceful stance and plays an important role in the settlement of major international issues. The PCP highly appreciates and fully supports this, and expects the CPC to play a greater role in the world.
