Chongqing, May 17th—2023 Belt and Road Forum for Land-sea Interconnected Development was held here today. It was hosted by the Council of the Silk Road Think Tank Association and Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and was organized by the China Center for Contemporary World Studies under the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government. Yuan Jiajun, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Sounthone Xayachack, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Vice President of the National Assembly of Lao, Agung Laksono Soemono, Chairman of the Expert Council of the Golkar Party and former Speaker of the People's Representative Council of Indonesia, and Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, delivered speeches. Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing, presided over the opening ceremony.
