Guo Yezhou Meets a Delegation of Awami League of Bangladesh

Beijing, May 24th—Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation from the Awami League of Bangladesh, which was led by Muhammad Faruk Khan, Presidium member of the Awami League and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Parliament.

Guo spoke highly of the relations between the two Parties and China and Bangladesh. He said, on the new journey of advancing Chinese modernization, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Bangladeshi side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote the high-quality development of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) between China and Bangladesh, in a bid to play an active role in boosting the development of the two countries and regional prosperity. The CPC is willing to further enhance the level of institutionalized exchanges with the Awami League, deepen exchange and mutual learning of experience in party building and state governance, tap the potential for cooperation between political parties, and promote exchanges and cooperation between organizations of youth and women, think tanks, and media under the two Parties, so as to make greater contributions to pushing China-Bangladesh relations.

Faruk Khan thanked the CPC and the Chinese government for the selfless assistance in Bangladesh's fight against the epidemic and development. He expressed, the Bangladeshi side is ready to continue to promote practical cooperation with the Chinese side in various fields within the framework of the BRI, and share China's development benefits in China's process of modernization. The Awami League is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with the CPC, expand and deepen exchanges and cooperation at all levels and in multiple fields, and jointly benefit the two peoples.
