Liu said, friendly associations of Italian Parliament, including the “Friends of China” Parliamentary Association, are expanding, making friendship between the two countries more profound. He said, friendship between the two people is the foundation of friendship between the two countries, and people-to-people connectivity is an important part of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. China is promoting Chinese modernization through high-quality development, which will bring important opportunities for the two countries to expand cooperation. Under the new situation, it is hoped that friendly associations including the “Friends of China” Parliamentary Association will continue to play an active role and serve as the real promoters, witnesses, and leaders of China-Italy friendship, and drive cooperation in various fields for more fruitful results.

The Italian side said, the friendship between the people of Italy and China has grown stronger over time. The “Friends of China” Parliamentary Association hopes to become the Marco Polo of the new era. It is willing to work with other friendly organizations to adhere to mutual benefit and win-win results, look into the future, further strengthen bilateral cooperation in such areas as politics, culture, economy and trade, push bilateral dialogues and exchanges in parliaments, political parties, governments, and localities for in-depth development, so as to play a greater role in the healthy and stable development of Italy-China relations.

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
