Liu Jianchao Holds a Thematic Briefing for Lao Cadres

Vientiane, September 7th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), gave a thematic briefing at the building of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee themed on "jointly implement the three major global initiatives and write new chapters of China-Laos community with a shared future. Leaders of the LPRP and Laos, and some 300 cadres at all levels were present.

Liu introduced the great significance and core connotation of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and the three major global initiatives based on the current international and regional situations. Liu said, ten years ago, General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the important concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, which was widely recognized and actively responded by the international community. As the practices and exploration of building a community with a shared future for mankind continues to deepen, General Secretary Xi Jinping has successively proposed the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative in response to prominent problems facing human society today. China is willing to work with all the countries and peoples in the world that support the three global initiatives and pursue the peace and progress of mankind to actively promote the implementation of the three global initiatives, continuously inject stability and positive energy into the turbulent and changing world, and promote the reform of global governance towards a more fair and reasonable direction.

Liu said, over the past ten years, China and Laos have always been at the forefront of building a community with a shared future for mankind. The construction of China-Laos community with a shared future includes a series of stories of good-neighborliness, friendship, same ideal and making progress hand in hand. Under the strategic guidance and strong promotion of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, the construction of China-Laos community with a shared future has taken root and achieved fruitful results. China and Laos must implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, take the action plan of building a China-Laos community with a shared future as the guide, deepen the integration of development strategies, strengthen security cooperation, enhance exchanges and mutual learning, and continuously promote the implementation of the three major global initiatives, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The Lao side spoke highly of the briefing and actively engaged in the exchanges. The Lao side said, under the personal care and strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, the construction of Laos-China community with a shared future has achieved positive results. The two sides should further implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and work together to build a high-standard, high-quality and high-level Laos-China community with a shared future. The current international situation is undergoing profound changes, with sluggish global economic growth and various security challenges. The concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and three major global initiatives proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping are conducive to solving the global challenges facing the world today. The Lao side highly appreciates this and is willing to work with the Chinese side to actively promote the implementation of the three major global initiatives and make greater contributions to world peace and development and the progress of human civilization.

Prior to the briefing, Liu had exchanges with Bounthong Chitmany, Member of the Politburo of the LPRP Central Committee, Executive Member of the Secretariat of the LPRP Central Committee and Vice President of the Laos in an amicable atmosphere. After the briefing, Liu led a CPC delegation to visit the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum and presented a flower basket.
