Li welcomed Dawaleh and his delegation's visit to China for the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and the thematic forum on people-to-people bonds. He spoke highly of the relations between the Chinese and Djiboutian parties and the two countries. Li also provided an in-depth introduction to the Belt and Road cooperation and the three major global initiatives. He expressed the Chinese side's willingness to work with the Djiboutian side to implement the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and President Ismail Omar Guelleh, further strengthen inter-party exchanges and cooperation, promote high-quality development of the Belt and Road cooperation, and deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Dawaleh expressed the Djiboutian side's firm commitment to the One-China principle and its strong support for the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the three major global initiatives proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The Djiboutian side is willing to seize the opportunity of next year's 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Djibouti and China to further enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries, including political parties, governments, locality, and civil society, so as to push bilateral relations to new highs.
