Liu Jianchao Meets with a PAP Women and Youth Delegation of Singapore

Beijing, October 27th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a women and youth delegation led by Sim Ann, Deputy Government Whip, Chair of the Women's Wing of the People's Action Party (PAP) and Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Development of Singapore, and Janil Puthucheary, Chair of the PAP's Youth Wing and Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Communications and Information and Ministry of Health of Singapore.

Liu said, in March this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong jointly elevated bilateral relations to a China-Singapore all-round high-quality future-oriented partnership, opening up a new chapter in the development of bilateral relations. Exchanges between the ruling parties of China and Singapore are an important part of the relations between the two countries and have played a positive role in deepening mutual understanding and strategic communication between the two countries over the years. The CPC is willing to work with the PAP to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning of concepts and practical experiences of party building and state governance, enhance exchanges between women and youth organizations, and better promote China-Singapore relations and the causes of each Party.

Liu said, the current international situation is turbulent and full of risks and challenges. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness in China's neighborhood diplomacy proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The Chinese side is willing to continue to carry forward this concept with Southeast Asian countries, jointly promote the modernization process of the region, promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, to contribute to world peace, stability and development and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The Singaporean side said, Singapore and China enjoy extensive and in-depth friendly cooperation. The two countries have profound mutual trust and consistent development concepts. The Singaporean side speaks highly of China's great development achievements. As a close neighbor of China, Singapore hopes its understanding of China will keep up with China's latest development and changes. The PAP hopes to strengthen exchanges with the CPC, learn from each other, and promote the development of bilateral relations.
