Zhao Shitong Meets with Lao Ambassador to China Khamphao Ernthavanh

Beijing, November 1st—Zhao Shitong, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with outgoing Lao Ambassador to China Khamphao Ernthavanh.

Zhao said, General Secretary Xi Jinping recently had a successful meeting with Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and Lao President, who was in China for the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and a working visit to China. The two leaders inked together a 2024-2028 action plan between the CPC and the LPRP on building a China-Laos community with a shared future. Under the new situation, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Lao side to give full play to the advantages of inter-party channels, take the important consensus of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries as guidance, and take the implementation of the new five-year action plan as the opportunity, so as to inject new impetus into China-Laos relations and the construction of China-Laos community with a shared future. Zhao spoke highly of Khamphao's active contributions to promoting China-Laos relations during his tenure as Lao Ambassador to China, and hoped Ambassador Khamphao will continue to care about and support the development of China-Laos relations and the construction of China-Laos community with a shared future.

Khamphao thanked the IDCPC for the support and assistance during his tenure, especially for the careful plan and thoughtful arrangements for the complete success of General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith's visit. He said that he will, as always, actively contribute to the development of Laos-China relations and the construction of Laos-China community with a shared future.
