Guo Yezhou Attends the 10th China-Germany Business Conference of the Belt and Road Initiative

The 10th China-Germany Business Conference of the Belt and Road Initiative was held in Darmstadt city, the state of Hesse, Germany, both online and offline from November 6th to November 7th. Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. Wu Ken, Chinese Ambassador to Germany, Hans-Peter Friedrich, Chairman of the German-Chinese parliamentary group of German Bundestag, Rudolf Scharping, former Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and Chairman of RSBK AG and others attended relevant activities.

Guo said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany more than 50 years ago, the relations between the two countries have always maintained a positive direction. China and Germany should cooperate with each other with an open and inclusive attitude, jointly leverage complementary advantages, and create new growth drivers for economic development and cooperation at the local level. Guo also introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era and the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress in light of the concerns of guests from other countries.

Wu said, the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a cooperation platform open to all parties. It is hoped that Germany and Europe will view and participate in the construction of the BRI with a more positive and open attitude. The German side is welcome to achieve mutual benefit and win-win cooperation in practical cooperation with the Chinese side.

Scharping and others said, the economies of Germany and China are highly complementary. The German business community is willing to further strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in economy, trade, science and technology, and jointly respond to global challenges.

The 10th China-Germany Business Conference of the Belt and Road Initiative, themed on act together sustainably, was co-organized by the China Economic Cooperation Center and RSBK AG. Nearly 200 people attended the meeting on-site, including representatives from local governments in Liaoning, Jilin, Fujian and Yunnan provinces of China and states of Hesse, Lower Saxony and Thuringia of Germany, as well as heads of well-known enterprises and institutions of China and Germany. They communicated and exchanged views around relevant sub-topics. More than 200 political and business representatives from both countries participated in the meeting online in real time.
