Guo Yezhou Attends the Seventh International Forum on the Belt and Road Initiative and Global Governance

Beijing, November 24th—Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Co-Chairman of the Council of the Silk Road Think Tank Association, attended here today the opening ceremony of the Seventh International Forum on the Belt and Road Initiative and Global Governance and delivered a speech via video link.

Guo said, General Secretary Xi Jinping, in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, put forward eight major steps China will take to support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, which has outlined a blueprint and charted the course for the future development of the Belt and Road cooperation, marking the beginning of a new phase of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The Belt and Road cooperation in the new era will be more innovative and dynamic, more open and inclusive, and will effectively promote common development among relative countries, advance reforms on global governance system, and make greater contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The forum, themed on "Ten Years of the Belt and Road: Success and New Challenges", was jointly organized by the Silk Road Think Tank Association and Fudan University. Jiao Yang, former Secretary of the Party Committee of Fudan University and Head of Fudan Institute of the Belt and Road & Global Governance, and Ong Tee Keat, former Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of the Malaysian Parliament, attended the event and engaged in discussions.
