Beijing, November 22nd—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Leonid Slutsky, Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.

Liu said, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, China and Russia have continuously deepened political and strategic mutual trust, achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation, and maintained close coordination in international affairs. Since the establishment of relations between the CPC and the LDPR, the two Parties have actively carried out exchanges and cooperation, playing an important role in consolidating friendship and mutual trust between China and Russia and promoting the development of China-Russia relations. Under the new situation, the CPC is willing to work with the LDPR to deepen high-level exchanges between the two Parties, maintain communication around issues of common concern, and strengthen cooperation among youth, media, and locality. It is hoped that the two Parties will continue to firmly support each other on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns, strengthen collaboration within multilateral frameworks such as the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and inject more stability and certainty into the peaceful development of the world.

Slutsky said, the two heads of state currently maintain close exchanges, promoting the high-level development of the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era. The Russian side attaches great importance to intensifying communication and exchanges with the Chinese side in various fields such as political parties, legislative bodies, think tanks, and non-governmental organizations, speaks positively of the results achieved by the two sides in the Belt and Road cooperation, and highly appreciates China's important role in international hotspot issues. The Russian side will assume the rotating presidency of the BRICS next year and looks forward to strengthening cooperation with the Chinese side in multilateral mechanisms such as the BRICS and the SCO, opposing hegemonism and neocolonialism, and jointly responding to global challenges.
