Liu Jianchao Meets with a Delegation of MPP

Beijing, November 22nd—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation led by Dashzegviin Amarbayasgalan, Secretary-General of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP).

Liu said that China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors, and the Chinese side consistently views and handles China-Mongolia relations from a strategic perspective. In the face of a complex and changing situation, deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two countries is of great significance for the peaceful and stable development of each country and region. Throughout this year, China and Mongolia have maintained frequent high-level exchanges and communication, with significant achievements in practical cooperation. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Mongolian side to follow the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, take the building of a China-Mongolia community with a shared future as guidance, advance bilateral relations to new highs, and promote regional development and prosperity. China has found a development path that suits its national conditions. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, China is advancing Chinese modernization, bringing new development opportunities to countries around the world, especially neighboring countries like Mongolia.

Liu said, the CPC values close communication with the MPP. It is hoped that both sides will give play to the leading role of the ruling parties, strengthen political mutual trust, engage in mutual learning and exchanges on topics like party building and disciplinary inspection, and firmly support each other in safeguarding sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and firmly support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests. It is hoped that both sides will make good use of the advantages of "political parties +" to promote cooperation between local authorities and enterprises, and strengthen exchanges between legislatures, young people, women and the media to consolidate public opinion foundation. At present, the strength of developing countries is growing, and South-South cooperation plays an important role in maintaining the momentum of the collective rise of developing countries. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen international coordination and cooperation with the Mongolian side, jointly safeguard the international system with the United Nations at its core, abide by the universally recognized norms governing international relations, respond to global challenges, and achieve unity and common development of the international community.

Amarbayasgalan said, Mongolia and China are friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers. The Mongolian side attaches great importance to developing relations with China. The leaders of Mongolia and China have maintained close communication and President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh attended the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in China. The comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has been developing in an in-depth manner. The MPP adheres to the One-China principle and has maintained a long-term friendship with the CPC, building an important bridge for the development of bilateral relations. The Mongolian side highly appreciates General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important global initiatives and is willing to align its development strategy with the Chinese side, so as to benefit the people of both countries. We will visit provinces and cities in China this time. The Mongolian side admires China's rapid development and looks forward to deepening local cooperation and promoting bilateral relations. Next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Mongolia and China, the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty between Mongolia and China and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The Mongolian side hopes to take this opportunity to strengthen exchanges between political parties and governments as well as non-governmental exchanges, and deepen cooperation with the Chinese side in economy, trade, investment, youth, women and at local levels, so as to achieve common prosperity.
