Zhao Shitong Meets with a Delegation Led by Hosaka Shin, Vice Minister for International Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan

Beijing, December 6th—Zhao Shitong, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the afternoon with a delegation led by Hosaka Shin, Vice Minister for International Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.

Zhao said, the economic interests and industrial and supply chains of China and Japan, both major economies in the world, are deeply integrated. It is hoped that the two sides will jointly implement the important consensus reached by General Secretary Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, establish a positive and friendly mutual understanding, strengthen exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation in economic and trade and other fields, oppose "exclusive yards with high walls" and "decoupling and severing supply chains", build a China-Japan relationship fit for the new era, and benefit both countries and the world.

Hosaka Shin said, the Japanese side attaches importance to economic and trade cooperation with China. It is willing to, together with the Chinese side, strengthen communication, properly resolve respective concerns, promote mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and help Japan-China economic relations keep pace with the times and more fit for the new era. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is willing to strengthen exchanges with the IDCPC and contribute to the development of Japan-China relations.
