Li Mingxiang Meets with Mansour Bajjash, Deputy Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs for Political Affairs of Yemen

Beijing, January 31st—Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with Mansour Bajjash, Deputy Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs for Political Affairs of Yemen.

Li spoke positively of China-Yemen relations and inter-party exchanges, saying that the traditional friendship between the two countries has become stronger over time and there is huge potential for practical cooperation. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Yemeni side to actively implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, support Yemen in safeguarding sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, and support the political settlement of the Yemeni issue. The CPC is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with all political parties of Yemen and promote China-Yemen relations for new and greater development.

Bajjash highly appreciated the Belt and Road Initiative and the three major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and thanked the Chinese side for its valuable support and selfless help. He emphasized that the legal government of Yemen firmly supports the one-China principle and will continue to firmly support China on issues involving China's core interests. He appreciated the Chinese side's fair stance on regional issues such as the Palestinian question, and hoped to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Chinese side to strive for peace and development in the Middle East at an early date. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates supports exchanges between the political parties of the two countries and encourages Yemeni political parties to learn from China's experience in state  governance and administration.
