Zhao spoke highly of Ambassador Dezcallar's efforts and contributions to the development of China-Spain relations. He said, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Spanish side to implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, deepen exchanges and communication between political parties, strengthen practical cooperation, combine our respective strengths for mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation, and promote the healthy and stable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain, as well as between China and the European Union (EU).

Dezcallar said, leaders of Spain and China reached important consensus on developing Spain-China and the EU-China relations. Spain is willing to continuously promote the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, work with the Chinese side to overcome the interference of various factors, and contribute to the stabilization and sound development of EU-China relations. He said, after I leave office, I am willing to continue to contribute to the development of Spain-China relations.
