Li Mingxiang Meets with Assem Hanafi, Egyptian Ambassador to China

Beijing, February 27th—Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with Assem Hanafi, Egyptian Ambassador to China. 


Li spoke positively of the contributions of Ambassador Hanafi and the Egyptian Embassy in China to promoting the development of China-Egypt relations. He said, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Egyptian side to, under the guidance of the important consensus of the two heads of state, take the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries as an opportunity, firmly support each other, deepen practical cooperation, promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and strengthen communication and coordination on multilateral affairs. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with all political parties of Egypt and push China-Egypt relations for new and greater development through inter-party channels.  

Hanafi wished the “Two Sessions” of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference a complete success. He said, Egypt and China are ancient civilizations. The Egyptian side firmly supports the one-China principle and regards China as one of its most important development partners. It is willing to, together with the Chinese side, deepen political, economic, people-to-people and cultural cooperation, push for improvement of the global governance system, increase the representation of developing countries in international affairs and expand the voice of the Global South. The Egyptian Embassy in China will continue to provide support and convenience for inter-party exchanges between Egypt and China.
