Liu Jianchao Meets with Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesian Ambassador to China

Beijing, March 7th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesian Ambassador to China. 


Liu said, in recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Joko Widodo, China-Indonesia relations have developed strongly, with fruitful results in practical cooperation between the two countries. The CPC is willing to strengthen strategic communication with all major political parties of Indonesia, implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, give full play to the advantages and role of inter-party exchanges, promote cooperation in various fields such as the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and intensify people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to boost bilateral relations for greater development in the new era. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation with Indonesia, inject stability into regional and world peace and development, and work together to safeguard the interests of countries of the Global South. 

Djauhari Oratmangun said, under the guidance of the two heads of state, both sides have maintained close exchanges in various fields and at all levels. China is Indonesia's largest trading partner. BRI projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR) have brought tangible benefits to the Indonesian people. The major political parties of Indonesia have maintained long-term friendly exchanges with the CPC, playing an important role in promoting bilateral relations. Indonesia is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with the Chinese side, deepen cooperation in economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural engagement, push the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to new levels, and jointly promote regional peace and prosperity.
